Read the latest news for the Geology Society. Dr. Chris Langevin selected as the 2010 GAS Award winner. 2/1/2010We are pleased to announce the winner of the USF GAS Award. Dr. Chris Langevin, USF M.S., Ph.D. 1998, will be presented with the 2010 USF GAS Award at the upcoming GAS Banquet. Dr.  Langevin is with the USGS is Ft. Lauderdale. His most notable contribution to hydrology has been the development of the SEAWAT computer program, which is used worldwide to simulate a wide variety of coastal groundwater problems. He is the co-recipient of the 2008 John Hem Award for Excellence in Science & from the Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers, a membership division of the National Ground Water Association. Dr. Langevin's work with numerical modeling will take him to the USGS offices in Reston, VA later this year as the chief of numberical modeling.
